Broken Home

Released January 5, 2018 — my first real project. 12 songs that I produced, engineered, and wrote entirely by myself.

This was EDM meets hip hop meets me trying to rap over electronic production. Inspired by Kygo, James Bay (that "Let It Go" era), and the wave of melodic electronic music at the time. Definitely amateur engineering — I was still figuring things out. But this came after making 17 beat tapes and handing them out to people in college.

The project is called "Broken Home" because it's about growing up with family challenges, working through that pain, and ultimately finding resolution. By the end of the album, I came to understand that my parents had their own struggles — I couldn't hold them to perfection. It's a journey from hurt to healing.

Piano, samples, records — it was a thorough project for someone just starting out. This is where it all began.
